Leading rated storm protection on the Carolina coast
Matthew Burns serves as Vice President of American Hurricane Shutters, working alongside founder Michael Burns to lead the company’s hurricane protection installations since joining the family business. Over 18+ years he has personally overseen storm protection projects on thousands of coastal homes from Emerald Isle to Myrtle Beach.
His work focuses on one thing — making sure homeowners get rated, code-compliant storm protection that actually performs when a hurricane hits. That means Miami-Dade and Florida Building Code TAS-approved systems, not the lowest-bid alternatives. It means OSHA-30 certified installation practices, not a crew figuring it out on the job. And it means honest, informed conversations with every homeowner about which system fits the home, the budget, and the level of protection needed.
Based at the company’s Wilmington, NC headquarters, Matthew is the direct contact for homeowners across AHS’s full service area — from free in-home estimates through final installation sign-off.
