Which Residential Storm Shutters Will Shield and Style Your Wrightsville Beach Home?

Finding the right hurricane shutter installer near you means finding someone with deep local knowledge of wind zones, building codes, and HOA rules. American Hurricane Shutters — a family-owned, OSHA-30 certified company serving coastal NC and SC since 2006 — serves Wrightsville Beach and every coastal community from New Bern, NC to Pawleys Island, SC — with a team that understands the specific challenges of your location.

Why Go for Residential Storm Shutters in Wrightsville Beach?

Hurricanes hit Wrightsville Beach hard with screaming winds, surging water, and flying debris. Local codes demand flood- and wind-resistant setups, so quality shutters are a must. At American Hurricane Shutters, our products pass ASTM 1886 and 1996 tests, blocking debris and handling intense wind pressure. They also beef up security, cut energy bills, and trim your insurance costs by meeting code requirements.

Best Storm Shutter Picks

We’ve got a lineup of residential storm shutters in Wrightsville Beach that people love for their toughness and good looks. Here’s what we offer:

1. Roll-Down Shutters

Roll-down shutters are a breeze to use and look sharp. You can lower them manually or with a button; some even work from your phone. We put one on St. Therese Catholic Church, a 135″ x 214″ electric roll-down that shields a stained glass window without ruining its charm. They need little upkeep: just roll them monthly and clean them once a year. When up, they leave your view wide open.

2. Accordion Shutters

Accordion shutters are built tough and easy to handle. Mounted permanently, they don’t need storage and lock from inside or out for extra security. We make ours from sturdy aluminum to meet Florida’s storm codes. Pick from colors like White, Ivory, Bronze, or Beige to match your home. They also bounce sunlight to keep your place cooler.

3. Bahama Shutters

Bahama shutters bring coastal flair while standing up to storms. Fixed in place, they don’t need storing and come in over 200 powder-coated colors to fit your home’s look. Our 4″ blade design lets you see the beach clearly when they’re open. They’re light, simple to use, and meet all impact codes.

4. Colonial Shutters

Colonial shutters scream Southern charm while keeping storms at bay. Perfect for plantation-style homes, they come in over 200 powder-coat finishes with a slim frame. You’ll need to close them from outside for complete protection, but their style and ease make them worth it. We ensure they hit ASTM standards, boosting safety and home value.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The team installed kevlar enforced rollup hurricane screens all around our porch 5 years ago. We purchased them because a relative has them and was very pleased. We live right on the water near the mouth of the Neuse River in Oriental so they get tested regularly. They’ve protected our house through tropical storms, snow storms and hurricanes. They’ve held up and continue to work well. They weren’t inexpensive, but well worth the money through our experience. We highly recommend them!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am very pleased with my new white hurricane shutters that can easily be pulled shut even from indoors in case of really windy weather. These are so much more practical than the heavy metal shutters we had to install for strong storms and then remove again in order to see out.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an excellent experience with American Hurricane Shutters! Mr. Burns met us promptly at our convenience to explain his array of products. We chose the accordion style hurricane shutters for our Ocean front side. I was notified in a timely fashion when they were about to arrived and allowed to pick a convenient date for installation at our house on Wrightsville Beach NC. The installers were kind enough to wait for us to come after they were finished do demonstrate their function. I tore a rotator cuff trying to close our 30 yr old rusty shutters and now can close these just using my finger tips! I highly recommend this company.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience. Had an issue with the manufacturer's finish a year later, and they replaced the hurricane shutter without question. The installation was thorough as we expected the first time, but many businesses attempt to evade warranty work or address their problems once they've received their payment. Not here. 100% recommended. Was an excellent option for our home in Surf City.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The AHS team did a great job for us. We were not in town for much of the planning and installation, so placed lots of trust in their team. The communication was great, the work exceptional, and they followed up promptly on small issues until everything was complete. I would highly recommend.
